A Small Business Brought to Life

Cory Backus, the owner of Excalibur Painting & Remodeling, began his journey as a skilled painting professional and decorator. In 2016, he took a leap of faith and founded Excalibur, driven by his passion for helping others bring their visions to life. As he gained experience and learned new techniques, Cory expanded what began as a professional painting business to include remodeling and general contracting services, ensuring he could offer a wider range of solutions to his clients.

A proud father and husband, Cory finds joy in the outdoors and spending quality time with his kids. His “why” behind Excalibur Painting & Remodeling is to use his skills to help people in his community showcase their creativity and transform their spaces. With a hands-on approach, Cory personally oversees every project, making sure each one is thoughtfully planned, coordinated, and completed to his high standards, ensuring customer satisfaction every step of the way.

Is the Concept Consultation Free?

Yes, we do not charge a consultation fee. It is important to us that you feel confident about hiring us for work, which we are certain you will once we meet and put together a plan for your project!

Is Excalibur Painting & Remodeling insured?

Yes we are!

Are permits needed for remodels or renovations?

Sometimes, and this will depend on the type of project you’d like to do. We will make sure you have all the information you need at the time of our consultation!

What is your project process like?

Once you approve the project plan, we will schedule all trades and work in a timely manner. On Start Day we will come in and cover everything needed before we begin to demo. After demo begins your dream space will start to appear day-by-day until the project is complete!

What is an average timeline for a one-room residential remodel project?

The exact timeline will of course depend on the specific scope for your project, but here are some standard averages:

  • A small custom bathroom takes about 2 weeks
  • A custom kitchen takes about 4 weeks

Do I have to buy any of the materials needed for a remodel?

Yes, clients will provide all variable materials so that they can pick out the exact hardware they are looking for in their project (Examples: tile, shower kits, faucets, sinks, etc.).

We work closely with a few different vendors where you can sit down with them and pick everything out in a bundle and have it all ordered at the same time. You can also check out other stores and piece everything together. We will work with you throughout this whole process to help make sure everything will work together and you can sit back and watch the magic happen.

How can I prepare my home for the project? 

Prepping your project area will require moving any decorations or loose items away from the area and making it as bare as possible for us to begin a demo. Our team members will be sure to cover furniture with plastic to limit the amount of dust.

Do you offer a cleaning service post-project? 

Yes we do! We make sure that we clean up after ourselves to the best of our abilities. Oftentimes after a remodel a more thorough deep cleaning is needed. If you’re interested in getting this done right after your project is complete, we can have our professional construction cleaners come in directly afterward.
